Planning a Destination Bachelorette Party, Part 3: The Party!

Last year, one of our event planners, Kim, planned a destination bachelorette party in Scottsdale, Arizona with a Fiesta theme! Pool parties with margaritas and themed shirts/towels were high on the ‘to-do’ list for the bride. Every bride is different on what they want to do during their bachelorette party. The key is getting some input from them on expectations for the trip. As long as the bride is having fun, everyone is having fun!

Ideas for decorations and gifts started with Pinterest boards put together by the bridal party. Etsy is a great place to get custom made gifts. Towels, tanks, fiesta themed hair ties and a serape themed “Nacho Average Bride” sash came from Etsy and the universal koozies in fun fiesta colors and fiesta bride tattoos came from Amazon. Keep in mind that you have to pack everything for travel, so make sure anything you plan to buy can fit in your suitcase or be bought at your destination. For this out-of-state party, pre-purchased decorations included fiesta balloons and banners. All the tools needed to blow up balloons and hang decorations were also packed (air pump, scissors, tape, fishing line, 3M hooks…).

“As the coordinator, I got to Scottsdale early, picked up my rental car, and got all my errands done, which included an alcohol and food run, as well as fiesta themed cookies, all before arriving at the Airbnb. Getting these things done ahead of time versus with the whole group was a lot easier. I was able to stick to my budget and grab the things the girls needed for the weekend. Most meals were pre-planned and pre-ordered, which were then either picked up or delivered. The group planned only 2 restaurant meals during the weekend to help keep costs down,” Kim explained.

Planning activities and games should also be done ahead of time, so when the time comes, you can have fun & relax. In this case, the bride wanted to do some hiking on Camelback Mountain, go out one night to a club, have lots of pool time, and enjoy some margaritas and tacos. An itinerary was sent to the bride and guests ahead of time so they could pack accordingly.

With all the planning done ahead of time, the weekend went smoothly and the bridal party had an amazing time!
